| Step One: Do Your Homework |
| |
|
One of the most important decisions you will make about your business is the mark selected to represent your product or service. We want to give you the assurance that your chosen mark is appropriate and available for registration, and will be afforded the strongest protection possible. Our comprehensive search report allows us to analyze both the strength and register ability of your mark.

| Step Two: Filing a Trademark Application |
| |
|
Once our trademark search is complete, and we have determined that no conflicting marks exist, we are ready to move on to the application stage. We can prepare and file a trademark application on your behalf, seeking formal registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”).

| Step Three: Maintaining and Protecting Your Registered Trademark |
| |
|
Although the rights associated with a registered trademark can potentially last indefinitely, it is the responsibility of the trademark owner to be certain that the necessary documentation is filed with the USPTO in a timely manner. Failure to do so can result in the abandonment of your federally protected rights. We can monitor your trademark portfolio to prevent such an abandonment.

| |
|
Furthermore, in order to preserve the strength of your trademark, it is of utmost importance to ensure that third parties are not adopting trademarks which are confusingly similar to yours, whether intentionally or not. Failure to monitor new trademark applications in the USPTO and foreign trademark offices can potentially diminish and dilute the strength of your registered trademark. We have the resources to monitor these databases worldwide, allowing us to be proactive in the continued protection of your trademark portfolio.
